About me

Hello! My name is Massimo Albano. I am a third year computer science student here at the University of Windsor. I was born and raised in Windsor and decided to stay close to home to pursue post secondary education. I have always loved working with computers, and after taking some computer science courses in high school where I learned the basics of some programming, I decided that I wanted to further my education. I was originally having a hard time deciding between computer science and physics, but I knew that I wanted to stay in Windsor regardless of what major I chose. My current idea for what I want to do after graduation is game development. I don't know much about the industry, but I have taken a couple of classes on game development in university this year and have had a great time, so I am hoping that I will be able to turn this into a career!

Travel

Like many people, this past year has made a lot of people grow eager to travel again soon. I am hoping to be able to travel again soon, and have been slowly compiling a list of places that I want to visit. One of these places is Banff National Park in Alberta. Some of my friends have been before, and many of them are interested in visiting again! It seems like a very beautiful place, and I want to visit there in my lifetime. Over time, I have grown more interested in visiting more scenic locations, and I think that Canada has many very beautiful cities that I am eager to visit! Another is Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia. It may be a while before I can get these to happen, but I am excited for the time to come that I will be able to visit them! Some other places in Canada that I am interested in visiting are Montreal, Ottawa, and all of the Maritime Provinces.

Video Games

I haven't had too much time to play video games lately, but I try to make some time to play something when I can. I recently purchased a game called "Ghost of Tsushima" for the PlayStation 4. In this game, you play as a Japanese samurai during a Mongol invasion in the 13th century. Many samurai have been defeated in battle and it seems that all hope might be lost as the Mongols are making their way up the island of Tsushima and cannot be stopped. The game is open world (meaning you can go anywhere on the map you want, and are not confined to the linear story of having to go to specific places at in order), and has amazing graphics. The world is full of detail, from the smoke from burning villages in the distance, to the way that a bird sits on a branch, to the way the wind moves the leaves and the grass. I enjoy playing Ghost of Tsushima because it can be exciting with fun sword combat, but also relaxing when riding around the island on your horse and looking at the scenery.
